This is our latest interior office renovation for the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities in Toronto. Located at 625 Church Street, the 7-story high concrete slab office tower was originally built in 1956. In 2012, the City of Toronto had identified the property for its potential historical significance in the community and was under review for listing and potential designation under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act.
The MTCU Apprenticeship Toronto Office features 18 new workstations within an open office concept alongside a boardroom, private office, small meeting room and kitchenette. The retrofit included new finishes and glazing wall system, millwork and high-density filing. This site was unique in being located on the ground floor of a mid-rise office tower having a 16-foot high ceiling, which is uncommon.
